Following heavy downpours during visit to France earlier this year, I noticed water in the passenger footwell and on the driver's seat. At the time I put this down to someone leaving doors open while unloading luggage.
However, last weekend I was valeting the car because a musty smell was developing inside. At this point, I found the carpet on the passenger side to be very wet so I dropped into my local Toyota dealership to ask if they could identify the problem. They asked if a new windscreen had been fitted and I said a replacement was fitted in November 2015. They said that it was clearly leaking so I contacted Autoglass and a service visit was then arranged for Monday 16th May.
However, when I went to use my car yesterday morning, I found the car sitting on my drive with the hazard lights flashing and I could not turn them off without disconnecting the battery. I contacted the RAC and an engineer duly attended my home. He found a significant amount of water in the area behind/below the glovebox and close to the vehicle engine control unit, which he said was a very serious problem. He suggested I contact Autoglass to bring the appointment forward. Autoglass responded in a very positive manner and an engineer came to rectify the problem today.
Although the original fitting was not satisfactory (mistakes do happen) the engineer who sorted the problem was first class and is a credit to Autoglass.
Many thanks Autoglass for providing a world class service to resolve this urgent problem.
