“Waste of time”

Had to give up on this company in the end as had waited 48 hours for them to even ring me to arrange the repair, in the meanwhile I was without a car and unable to work. Their communication was useless, I rang them on several occasions, waiting on hold for ages, each time all they could tell me was that at some point someone would call me. Having booked initially they arrived with the wrong windscreen, then I was advised that someone from the office will call me back to re-book. Fat chance, no call therefore I called them back and the only available booking was a month away. Waited a month and all was booked in and on the day of the appointment received a text confirming the booking and a hour later got a call saying they can not fit the windscreen and the appointment was cancelled and they can re-book for a month away. Really disappointed, smashed my rear windscreen so called the number on my insurance, these people answered immediately and were so helpful, I paid my excess and they literally hung up never to be heard from again!!! Called and called but nobody answers, when they do they fob you off and just offer to refund you as quick as possible. They told me I was looking at June?! On the 21st April I contacted Auto-Windscreens as instructed by my insurance company. The day before a stone-chip from a lorry became a major crack across the screen meaning a replacement. I was told the earliest appointment was (today) 9th May some 18 days without use of my car. Worse they insisted on my card details and the £70 excess before confirming the booking. 3 and a half week wait for an appointment only for the for the fitter to turn up with the wrong glass. I know this seems to be standard practice in the screen replacement industry these days! As consumers the only leverage we have is to avoid insurers that lock their customers into using these clowns. There is no excuse for a 3 week delay. This is not a 3rd world country!! My windscreen needed replacing and despite the damage being within my line of sight, the earliest appointment they would offer was 3.5 weeks later. The day before the appointment they called to cancel as the technician was not available and the next appointment they could offer was a further 3.5 weeks away. Service is a joke, Put through by my insurance company and took my details and said was on high priority and someone would call me back. called to booked windscreen for a replacement in early January 2016. Had a date two weeks after, I had to book a holiday day and they cancelled the day before. Ok mistakes happen! They rebooked a second date about 2 weeks after again I booked a holiday day as I work 6 days a week again the day before they cancelled. Last summer windscreen replaced after not turning up for first appointment, rubbish job, inside screen rubber oozing out. Miserable fitter. Let in water in heavy rain on motorways. Two months later decent fitter came out to replace, they hadn't given him a new screen! He put in more filler & cut away excess inside. It has failed! “Worst repair company - do not use”

Had my windscreen replaced in December...they broke parts of my car by doing so, now almost 3 months later I'm still waiting for it to be sorted! I had someone come to inspect the damage, he agreed to order the parts and they made an appointment for yesterday but the person turns up thinking it's to inspect the car again! This is a company that my insurer uses. I was booked in for a repair on a day that was not convenient, my insurer had given me a number to call to rearrange. I called this number several times over the course of a week, no one ever picks up! I was often on call waiting for over 20 minutes with no reply. “Feel let down”

Had a windscreen repaired, promised a life time guarantee. Couple of years down the road and the repair has failed and I have to now get a completely new windscreen. Will you let me know how this goes? I had a windscreen fitted by autowindshields this time last year and have recently found out the technician did a very poor job and managed to scratch the roof in the process.

I am aware that autowindscreens have taken over autowindshields and therefore they are now responsible for the lifetime guarantee on workmanship however I am having a tough time getting them to replace my windscreen!

I hope you are able to sort your problem with them
