Today I took my, new to me, 2 year old Peugout 107 into ATS Hinckley. The exhuast sounded a bit "boomy" under acceleration. I'm no expert, so asked them to do an exhaust check.
After having the car on a lift for nearly an hour, they said that there was a leak. I asked for a quote and had already told them I needed some more quotes from elsewhere for my company, but would choose the best quote.
£135 they said.
I drove the car literally across the road to a competitor. They checked and re-checked the exhaust and said there was no leak! There was no need for a replacement and that these models do sound a bit noisy under acceleration.
WHAT!? I walked across to ATS and they said "I told you there is a leak, but couldn't find it" - UNTRUE, and "It was only a quote anyway". What does that mean?
Avoid these cowboy rip-off merchants at any cost. Please, please, please get a quote from someone else and see who the honest ohuys are.
