Own a 1989 Grand Marquis GS this is the best car ever owned. Everything works excellent on this car she had her issues liked any other car would but only minor stuff as replaced a leaking head gasket at 135,000 miles and wiper motor at 126,000 miles. The car still going like a energizer Bunny with almost 300,000 miles on the odometer clock the air conditioner is strong and blowing freezing ice cold air living in deep south of Louisiana with having 100'F degrees doing middle of summer it's perfect. The car does well in traffic living in a congested area it doesn't burn lots of gas or overheats with the A/C blasting. Interior is luxurious feels like sitting in a Lazy Boy recliner or couch with the cushion sitting on the bucket seats. Transmission starts slipping but got something can't remember cheap from Auto Zone wasn't expensive did the repair myself but had lots oil changes and tuneups by mechanic doing business with for years wit my other vehicles. Replaced parts on this car like valve gaskets, air shocks, alternator, throttle body, CV axles, seals, catalytic converters and alignment etc. I love my car never getting rid of it although i can afford a new car i'm just going to keep this one for a while these cars last forever before bought this one owned a 1981 Grand Marquis went at 400,000 miles know still getting money worth out on this 89 model got it used in 1994 from original owner when he bought a newer Grand Marquis it had only 6,000 miles at the time now I've put over 300,000 miles still serving me well up/down the streets. Power windows, locks, seats, cruise control all in great shape but noticed when using the cruise control it starts getting weak but it's a old car so what to expect glad still running strong. It doesn't have any rust or rips or tears anywhere for the age it performs and handles the road tight. I love the acceleration it beats other cars out there even raced a newer Toyota vehicle this car had the power under the wheels she is still a beauty with the burgundy paint color and beige interior with the woodgrain panels on dash and doors everything is electronic from windows to the power antenna but seems to get weak as well but the radio still plays. I would recommend these cars like the Crown Victoria, Town cars and Grand Marquises they last forever but retired at a high mileage.
