I applied for my car insurance using a comparison site at the beginning of May when my renewal reminder came through. Igo4 insurance gave me a very competitive quote so I decided to give them a go - what a HUGE MISTAKE TO MAKE!!!! On completion of the application, and after paying the full years insurance,they asked that I provide both driving licence copies and a copy of my no claims bonus schedule which was issued by my previous provider. I sent all the relevant documents via email and received receipts for all of them. They then sent me an email saying my no claims bonus schedule wasn't acceptable as they couldnt see the name of the provider on the uploaded copy, so I resent it! They then advised that it wasn't acceptable again as it was still in use with my previous provider, so I rang and spoke with one of their agents to explain that, as per my online application i did not want my policy to start until 23rd of May when this previous claim ran out. She said this was fine and all I need do is send it again on 23rd May - which I did!!
To date I have received no other emails stating anything was insufficient.
Yesterday 6th July then emailed me to say my policy had been CANCELLED as I had not provided the correct No Claims Bonus schedule! So I rang the company in utter disbelief and after half an hour of explaining what the issue was I was advised he couldn't help me as the department I needed was closed, but he would put in an urgent request for assistance and someone would ring me this morning..............of course they didn't!!! I rang again them at 1pm today to be told the document I had provided was inadequate and my policy was void! I tried to explain that I had sent the schedule that I had been provided with but they said it didn't give the date of the exclusions and therefore couldn't be accepted. I would have to obtain the proper schedule email it to them and then they would be able to complete a brand new policy for me (do they honestly think I would be so stupid as to let them insure me again? And take more of my money!!)
Gobsmacked I rang my previous provider to ask why I had not been sent the correct schedule to which they replied "you have! - the no claims schedule provided is all they need for proof of no claims bonus and if they needed confirmation of dates they could've simply rang and asked" they informed me that this schedule was accepted by all other insurance companies and they did not understand why igo4 were any different.
So back to igo4 I go, armed with my information only to be told, the document wasn't valid, they do not make phone calls and my policy was void.
I wasn't permitted to speak with anyone in the complaints department - they would forward my details and someone would get back to me in writing in the next 5 days!!!! In the meantime they have the full payment of my car insurance for a whole year! Their finance team will decide whether I am due anything back, but there is a hefty cancellation fee owed by me, and interest, so it's not looking good. I've now taken out a new policy with my old provider so have ended up paying twice this year!!
This company are a bunch of THEIVES!!!! Do not consider using them!!! They will find a way of fleecing you good and proper!!!! If I could rate them with no stars then I would - absolutely disgusting!!
