I had a little stumble, a car pulled out on me and I ended up in a ditch, the car carried on and didn't stop. So, I was hold fully responsible (fear enough)! I claimed on the insurance and they said that id signed up for a excess of £700 and I've never seen them digits in my life but anyway, they said my car would be a right off just with a broken radiator, (radiators on these cars are mounted really low), all they tried to do was write it off charge me £700 and then id probably need to pay them money even though they writ it off!! Worst insurance ever! I got car fixed for £200 by a mechanic, with a brand new radiator. Nothing else is even broke!

Your excess amount would have been on the paperwork you checked over when you started the policy.
Should maybe just have hit the car that pulled out in front of you. Would not be driving off after that.
