I sold a car before moving abroad and thought (I still think but I could be wrong) that I notified SAGA. When automatic renewal happened (slow-ish mail forwarding from UK meant the "checking you want to renew" letter and new policy arrived together) and I queried it, they sorted it and refunded back to the date of sale in no time at all.
I liked the quick response with a request for additional information followed by prompt action.
