“RCIB Review - Deal with at your risk”

RCIB had a questionable sales approach which when challenged and realised what they were doing tried to cancel within a few minutes. I am currently in the process of writing to the regulatory authority regarding more serious concerns as what transpired I consider wholly unacceptable. They also refuse to formally respond and to put anything in writing so far. (read more)

used this company as was best quote on comparison website for my daughters first car insurance.Started at £800 one week later went up to £1100 which I paid with my credit card. Some days later had a phone call said because of some detail insurance would be £1500.I said I wanted to cancel but they refused to do so over the phone and said I needed to do this in writing even though the policy states you could cancel by phone within the first 14 days.After many phone calls speaking to rude... Simply was not possible to get what it says on the tin. Their system is wrong as it is not always possible to get all the basic details to them on line. Appears to be designed to draw potential mugs into the telephone quote for much more money. For future reference I would not choose to waste time and money by being involved with these people, their telephone manner also became most unsatisfactory once they were informed of their unacceptable practice. after paying her insurance in full at the start of the policy, as they gave her the cheapest quote, my partner ended up being given a choice of paying an extra £700 on top of the money she payed or cancelling the policy which would cost her £660!! just to cancel her policy, !! red light warning in 30 years i have never ever had dealings with such a company from start to 10 months into policy . Best quote by far in all car insurance comparison sites. Buy it at your peril!.I was buying for my son(35yr./perf.car/conviction) Not until AFTER you pay,do you get message that you are NOT covered,until they call. I was on price comparison websites and Right Choice Insurance Brokers came out as the cheapest one for my car insurance, after taking a deposit the lady on the phone then increased my insurance and told me the reason for it was because I have never taken out insurance myself. I came across rcib via a comparison website they were they cheapest by far so happily accepted quote. Well I got a call next day to confirm my details I imputted, and the sales advisor came across a mistake I made my vehicle was down as £3000 value he said I was given the wrong value and this is going to effect m insurance policy so he said should be down as £5000 and with that charged me an extra £150 on the insurance with this increase they were still the cheapest in the market so... I have never been treated so rudely or suspiciously. Essentially, it sounds from the other reviews like I am lucky because the company refused to insure me. This has meant that they're refunding my payment, which I am now concerned may not happen, havig read the other comments. I found rcib through confused.com and with being a student i thought it was cheap so went for it. Just bought a new car and went to upgrade my policy said i would have to start a new one because of value of car so had to go fully comp. I had payed just over 800 or my third party fire n theft policy and they qouted me 1200 and i rung another company got it for 840. When asking to cancel they wanted me to pay a fee of 150 even though i had made all payment as it was an 8 month payment plan so... (read more)

I have also had a bad experience with this company. I thought it would be a great idea if my daughter bought her own car, that she learn and drive with a supervising driver. RCIB was the cheapest quote I found online at £1193. Which I thought was great for a 17 year old but when they did their call back. I was appalled that policy ran for 12 months. Latest news one week later and still no refund. Contacted the company in question today and was informed there was notes on the system regarding a full refund but not one had refunded the money. The person on the phone said he would refund the money straight away and send an confirmation email. Well got the email just hope the monies refunded in a couple of days.

Today, I was shopping around on the usual price comparison sites for my car insurance and RCIB came in slighter cheaper than the nearest competitor. They quoted approximately £715 which was about £50 cheaper so naturally I signed up straight away via their web site. Once my payment had been received, I received a message saying my my insurance would not start until I receive a call from the company. Ok, so here's my story. Some two weeks ago I was comparing prices of car insurance policies for my girlfriend and myself on one of the "well known" websites. RCIB came on top with a quote of £575. “RCiB Con Artists Insurance Company”

This is a con artist insurance company. They overcharge you and take all your money and do not want to give it back. It happened to me and my friend. They charge you for a refund over £150 even if it is still within 7 days. I only insured with them as I had TT99 and they come up as cheapest. However They phoned me charged me extra £500 setting fake dates of the points that lead to TT99 which do not even show on my policy. I had the same experience when my Daughter was trying to buy car insurance from a too good to be true RCIB quote via a comparison site.,
Fortunately the card transaction to Right Choice (RCIB) was not accepted by the bank, That failure it turns out saved even more hassle in the so called confirmation phone call stage.
RCIB attempted to bump up the price, the guy working at RCIB who spoke to my Daughter switched into naughty bad boy mode and dropped her like a hot spud once he understood RCIB was not going to get at her hard earned wonga!
They received a further phone call as a means to help the RCIB business explaining that the RCIB operating system is very very wrong .and they are going to lose custom.
Beware of Right Choice Insurance Brokers people ,by all means consider the right choice for car insurance then consider this,........ When the Right Choice looks to good to be true like the diamonds on the sole of your shoe,
WAKE UP!, Think, take a deep breath through the nose, smell the cattle poo?
Go elsewhere and make a better choice.
