“Happy to take but not to give ”

I went with Quinn last year as they were the cheapest by far for a first time driver. After 4 months of driving, i was unfortunate ti have someone hit me from behind. Quinn took my excess as I needed the car fixed right away due to boot not closing.
Although, over 8 months on, I have now won the claim, and regained my no claims bonus, they refuse to give me my excess back.

They have told me they have recovered the £1000 back from Admiral (third party's insurance) but haven't received my excess back.
To me this seems a little weird that Admiral would only give half of it back.

I have been pestering them for weeks now, but they never get back in touch.

Also, claims handler NEVER answers phone.

I moved house this year, and my car insurance with them tripled despite having 1 years no claims so its safe to say I left them for someone much cheaper.
My insurance with them ends in the next week, just hoping I get my excess back after I've left!!
