I took out insurance with the post office because they were the best value for money on the compare sites for my Audi A3 1.8t (£103 per month) I have 4 years no claims but because of the big engine I paid it for a year and and kept looking for a smaller car. They sent me a renewal after 12 months for £126 I called and tried to get it down but they refused.

I called up to change my car details from the Audi 1.8t sport to fiesta 1.2 and my monthly premium went down (£12) I told them I was not going to pay that because I was getting £40 a month quotes elsewhere including post office on a different address and they said I could cancel but had to pay a total of £489.90 which was a short term rate??? and £35 cancelation fee. I cannot afford to leave and cannot afford to stay.
