I bought my first car in 1965 and insured with Frizzells, later absorbed by LV. In 2013 the LV renewal quote was £352. For the first time I decided to shop around. I was quite angry to find comparable insurance available for less than half this sum. When I spoke to LV they checked and said "Oh yes, you are one of our longest continuous customers".
So my reward for extreme loyalty (over 40 years) was to be ripped off by LV for who knows how many years! The LV adverts on TV are a mockery as far as I am concerned.
