Pretty good experience but be very wary of hidden costs.

I came home last Sunday to find my wife on the phone to Kwik Fit sorting out her car insurance and got the impression they were being a bit pushy, trying to sell her extras which she kept saying no to.
The screen price on one of the comparison sites was £149 which was a big saving on her renewal quote so blah de blah de blah and she gives them our account details.
She then gets her documents through via email and it's suddenly rocketed to £263!!
Had a quick look at the documents and there's no mention of what the extra amount is for though their costs for paying monthly are pretty astronomical.
Found this review site and the reviews filled me with dread.
She tried to ring them back to cancel but the phone lines had closed so she had to wait until Monday.
So she rang them, spoke to a very friendly girl who was very apologetic and that the money taken would be refunded within 7 working days.
4 days later it's all been refunded, no cancellation fees, nothing!
The policy wasn't due to start for a week so days on cover were zero.
In all, I think we had a lucky escape and without a shadow of doubt I'd never use or recommend them but in fairness to them, they played by the rules and it was all sorted very quickly. Not only that, her current insurers 'cancellation dept' rang back and offered her a discount to stay with them so a happy conclusion.
