I originally chose Hastings Direct from a comparison site, their quote being one of the best from a recognised / trusted insurer. Having recently changed cars, I was expecting a lot of hassle, rearranging policies and so on, but was pleasantly surprised when, having telephoned beforehand, to get helpful and honest advice from their agent.
When I had previously insured another car with Hastings, I had to pay a surcharge for a Green Card, in order to take my car abroad. I am pleased to say that they have waived this requirement and this makes things a lot easier.
The policy details were immediately available on-line and also were sent by post within a few days.
My only reservation is the charge made for repairing a windscreen chip, which other insurers don't make. Still, you can't have everything !
