Nightmare ! Stay Away
Allow me to explain my grievances. I purchased this insurance after being directed to you by the website GoCompare where I had completed an insurance search. I inputed all the information requested and was honest in all that I provided. The insurance quotation was bound to a telematic which was fine by us as we had used one before and it attested to our good driving habits. The telematic came in an unmarked parcel which I had to open in order to see what was inside as I was waiting for a number of parcels. I was on shift for a number of days and couldn't install it until the 2nd of May. It was made to seem urgent that I install it, a deadline was given for the 2nd which luckily was my first day off. I installed it successfully on the 2nd of May and was satisfied that I had fulfilled the requirements.
I then receive a letter from you on Monday the 4th, dated the 1st, stating that you will cancel the insurance and the reason being is that I didn't contact you to validate the insurance. In all my experience with insurances I have never had to call to validate anything and if there is an issue the company calls to discuss. However as the tones were menacing, I did call to find out what the issue was as I thought it had to do with the telematic. I spoke to a lady who stating that she needed to clarify some of the information. Namely the details of a past accident which I had reported and my profession. They had found online I was listed as a company director. I explained that due to the corona virus I was unable to proceed with this plan and am still employed. I also pointed out that there was no box for a second employment on the forms anyway and am not receiving any other source of income nor working any hours as a company director - only as an employed HGV driver.
The lady kept going on and off the phone and making me wait for long periods of time between this interrogation session. In the end she decided that my answers were not satisfactory and we would have to call back to speak to someone else. We called and had to explain the whole issue all over again. This phone operator was quite aggressive from beginning. She said our insurance would go up because we had not given the correct information. I explained that we had. She said we had not declared the accident. I explained we had and that I put it on the GoCompare site and that is why you had the record and her colleague previously had not raised this as an issue at all. She responded by telling me that I had to take it up with GoCompare, refusing to reply to the evidence I gave her.
She then proceeded to "dress me down" about employment. Do I drive garbage truck. I patiently explained that I don't I drives over 7tn in different industry.The questions continued, how long I work, where, how long I'm employed there. I felt like I was on the phone with the police. I expressed my frustration that in the almost 20 years I have been driving, I have never come across anything like this. She said she's making sure it wasn't used for business purposes. I had already, categorically told her that it wouldn't. She then said we have to pay an extra 144.06 otherwise the insurance would be cancelled and we would have to pay a similar amount because we have opened the telematic (which we were pressured into installing asap) and there are cancellation fees. We paid the fee but then were send the policy by post and the terms of business were not what we signed up for. Policy dates and details were wrong and the asked for the insides of a cats back in terms of further documents! I asked to cancel and haven't heard from them yet. Beware !

But more than happy for him to pay extra £1200 to renew it
My 17 year old son has now paid £2930 to insure his £1500 car , all so has a cancellation policy against him, going to have high insurance for years
Just got him private plate for Christmas and you guess what YES(£30)

My son a leaner driver took out Insurance with them, when he passed his test after 3 months he contacted them there new quote was £1509 more, So he looked elsewhere and found one only £400 more, When he contacted them they informed him he would still have to pay the remaining 9 mouths of his insurance when he cancelled it,
So for 3 months Insurance he had to pay £583.
DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO YOU WILL NE SORRY

If I could leave no stars at all I would. Tried to take out insurance on my classic car to take a relative to the prom. I have had nothing but problems. I have had to be constantly on the phone to them. They send out no insurance documents after paying the deposit. I called them to question it - they ask very personal questions, and we’re very discriminating against me, a stay at home father. Ask personal questions about where my money came from. They cancelled the insurance twice without telling me - even after submitting my driving licence number, a check code from the DVLA to show them the details, and several phone calls. They ask lots of details and change the premium to what they think you can afford!
After only 4 days with them I have called again, and cancelled it myself after receiving yet another email stating that they were going to cancel the insurance half an hour after one of the phone calls to them!. - they charged me an extra £40 on top of the £18 deposit I have already paid. This fee was added on to the documents when they eventually sent the insurance details. - hidden fees are everywhere. Do not waste you time or your money.

I set up policy on Sat and expected policy info to be e-mailed quickly so
That I could check everything was ok as had insured my son on policy as learner driver and did not want to take him out without confirmation of cover did not receive anything to say the car was covered and office shut until Tuesday as closed Sundays and bank holiday so wasted 3 days they did send an email saying policy would be sent in a day or two but no reference to the car or anything to prove cover they also said they would be asking for some documents to be sent and would e-mail what was required later. That's when alarm bells started ringing about this firm and i read reviews which I wish I had done before purchasing policy as it sounded like this company harrases customers for info that no other insurer has ever asked you for except proof of no claims discount please see further reviews as it does seem that they look for excuses to cancel the policy I decided to phone up and cancel on the Tuesday as still no policy documents by 5pm and had no Faith in this firm as the defaqto rating awful too.

I went on line to find the cheapest car insurance FLUX DIRECT I should of known better the first thing there done try to find something wrong with my forms to get more money there do this a day before the policy starts and then add money to your policy. She had a very rude manner talking to me. She asked me if I get universal credits I guess there check before talking to you I asked why there need to know that she replied to make sure I get the right insurance. I wrote my job as site manager and told her I am not working at moment I am getting ESA as I am sick so there wanted to add money for that and then ask be about the building site I work on I told her I am on one site for between 6 months and a year she then told me I need to pay business insurance as I am not just going to work in one place.
I told her that I want to cancel she told me that I have to pay £58 to cancel and my policy had not even started. what happen to 14 days to change your mind.
The way there do it is pretend there are the cheapest till you pay then wait till you got no time to change your insurance broker then add money for reason that make no sense. The should be law against this type of behaviour.

They Should Be Removed From Comparison Sites
They are not an insurance company but brokers. I got the cheapest quote from comparethemarket. I had to ring n quote my webrefrence and still had to give all details out on the phone for 20 -30 minutes. No time saving. They will keep their £30 setup regardless of cooling off period n also ask for a mileage form to be signed by you that you don't exceed the mileage told, if did then your not covered. After buying I submitted the required documents and after a few days 6 days I got a letter saying that premium credit would not accept my direct debit agreement!!! (I have never had problems) and asked to pay in full or 3 installments. My only problem is that the agent should have made the check at the time of buying if I was accepted or not!!! And I told them that it's technically not my fault but they said that they will charge me setup fee and also the 6 days of insurance that I used on them ???? And returned pocket change out of my deposit. I wish comparison sites could take on insurance companies directly and not brokers!!!! What a waste of time n money
