I got a quote online from the 'co-op' for car insurance which I found acceptable but on selecting 'pay by direct debit' found that this policy was not available to be paid by this method, but I could have the premium there and then if I paid in full. I rang the enquiry line number to be told that due to having a 'low' credit score direct debit payments was not an option on this quote, despite having paid by this method and not having missed a payment for the last ten years and being a coop bank member for about the same time. I was then told the car insurance arm of the co-operative group has be sold off and it is actually someone else. So why don't they call themselves that instead of trading under false pretences. The next quote I had was about the same value with Swinton who accepted me with open arms and no problems whatsoever, so the 'co-op car insurance' or whoever they are can go and do one.
