Two months ago my vehicle was involved in an accident and the other driver admitted liabilty. I have had motor insurance for 20 years and have never made a claim.

My 4 x 4 had damage to the suspension and chassis. In the last 2 months the vehicle has been repaired twice by Churchill's selected garage (who are a body shop specialists), each time it has returned making loud scraping noises despite passing road tests. I have also discovered that the 4 wheel alignment has not been carried out despite Churchill claiming it had been done. The repairs were of such poor standard that the exhaust has been hammered back into place.

I sent my vehicle for independent testing by a Land Rover specialist, who provided me with a long list of faults with the reapirs that have been carried out, as well as accident damage that had been missed. My car is now classed as an MOT failure. Churchill are now dragging their heals with regard to rectifying these repairs - they have even claimed that I must have caused the damage!!! They claim to be liaising with both our village garage and the Land Rover specialists, however both garages state that Churchill have not been in contact.

My vehicle should probably have been written off, however Churchill tried to save money by allowing cheap repairs to be carried out instead. These repairs were substandard due to the contracted garage not having the specialist knowledge or equipment to deal with the complexities of a 4 x 4.

In short, Churchill have tried to cut corners, and now are unwilling to rectify their costly mistakes.

Would not insure with them again.
