Are you sick of massive insurance companies that are robotic and make it nearly impossible for you to speak to a human being? I was and a couple of years ago decided to take out car insurance with Chaucer and now don’t even bother shopping around because you simply can’t afford to go cheap on customer service! “Customer Service”

I took out a new policy and found that not only was the quote extremely competitive but the website and staff particularly Jenny brilliant. It's rare to find great customer Care in call centers nowadays! I was so impressed I took out a second policy for my wife and again received superb customer care from Jenny. i can only praise the staff i ahve delt with at chaucer, i had a very tricky situation with my insurance and after a few emails and calls again from very understanding and helpfull staff they found me a solution, which has relieved me of a very stressful situation. they were quick to respond to all my queries and quick to give me advice. and i am pleased to say they found me a solution with which we both are happy with i would highly recommend them to friends and would be pleased to renew... “Really helpful staff”

I have recently changed my car (the first time in 14 years), and as I have a personalised number plate it has actually been a very lengthy process. However, all the staff that I spoke to were extremely helpful as I had to call several times! These days it is sadly not the case with every company you deal with, but it was so refreshing to be able to contact a UK based call centre and talk to staff who were sympathetic with the situation and so helpful, so much so that I'm providing feedback... I have dealt with many insurance companies but my experience with Chaucer Direct was by far the most professional, friendly and stress free of them all. This company has a great future as long as it puts the customer and thier needs first. I wasnt hurried, no upselling, clear explanations and reviewed insurance to confirm it was what I wanted. Best of all they have a UK based call centre. I have no problem recommending them or re-using them. (read more)

She had a problem when trying to sell the car due to an issue relating back to 2008 when the car was insured by another company - the issue was not relating to my wife's car, but to another. Someone had put the wrong vehicle registration ( hers ) on the "write off". No one seemed to be interested until I spoke to Chaucer. “Professional, charming service”

I was new to Chaucer, expected a good quote as a friend already had his insurance there.Having just called Direct Line where I had someone who used "yeah" between every three words, I was pleasantly surprised by the clear. charming way I was dealt with. As someone else has already said, friendly, helpful, polite, respectful service. Call handler, Mark Downs has exceptional customer service skills and he should be recognised for this. What I really liked was using my telephone to enter payment card details. Felt very secure, I use my card over the phone a lot and this was the first time I've been asked to do this. Giving your details verbally to an operator requires a lot of trust and I admit there have been times I've felt uneasy. Ok so in summary, had a crash on my way to work and within 24 hours work had started at a BMW garage. Adam the advisor was superb, even pointing out I wasn't covered to drive to work but arranged for an additional payment of £16 to cover me and processed my claim. Chaucer were the cheapest in Compare The Market so to get this service was amazing. Few days into repairs, BMW seek approval for additional funding for repairs, within 30 mins approval was given.
