“poor workmanship that cause more damage than put right”

Written on: 20/09/2017 by Stout12 (1 review written)

Send out poor skilled workers that don't even cover your items then get paint on what you don't want paint on. Than blame the dogs!! Liar about the work they have damaged. Come back to correct the work then cause more damage. Take down light fitting and not able to reconnect them because they areally not a electrician. Say they will do a good job and then leave holes in ceilings. Finish very early even when therequired is still so much to do. Get paint on carpets radiator's and when they do… Read Full Review

“Gave in too easily to other insurance company”

Written on: 20/07/2017 by LyricStafford491 (1 review written)

My neighbour impatiently tried to sneak behind me whilst I was reversing into my parking space. Unfortunately we collided. There was little damage to my car and I knew I was getting rid of it soon, so I did the honest thing and not claim. My neighbour on the other hand had a dent in his door, so he claimed. Initially, Ageas was very helpful, saying they will record it as his fault. A few months after that, Ageas contacted me saying his insurers where refusing to accept it was his fault, and… Read Full Review

Typical Ageas for you. My insurance broker initially reviewed my evidence and said they would be fighting for a non fault claim (overtaking a car on a country road, vehicle pulled from a small hidden single track country road into my path).

The claim was then handed to the underwriters (Ageas), who promptly decided that I was mostly if not all at fault, they said regardless of what evidence I have and what arguments I make, they'll propose a 80/20 settlement with the third party insurance, who if reject, they'll accept full responsibility.

They're nothing more than clowns unfortunately, serves me right for insuring with the cheapest I could find.

I've had the footage of my crash reviewed by a current roads traffic policing officer who said the third party driver could have been prosecuted for driving without due care and attention and s.36 of the RTA 1988 for contravening a giveway junction, and in his professional view, she's more at fault than me.

Ageas are a shoddy cowboy outfit unfortunately, steer well clear.

“useless comprehensive cover”

Written on: 18/06/2017 by Almeidata42 (1 review written)

Now 18.6.17: I was hit on the nearside by a car coming off a garage forecourt on to the main A585 road two weeks ago. It turned out that the guilty party, a countrywide firm was not asked to pay for the damage. I was given a replacement car for two weeks and had to pay £50 accident waver. I have been told that my premium will now be increased to cover the cost of repairs. This firm will not help to get compensation for anything. Their comprehensive cover is not worth the paper it is… Read Full Review

“The pits! Absolutely shocking! Avoid like the plague!”

Written on: 17/06/2017 by Dillon217 (1 review written)

This company is the absolute pits. They have allowed a claim to be made against me knowing full well what has been alleged is a load of rubbish. I have provided them with photographic evidence showing there is NO damage to my car and proof written in black and white that I was nowhere near where the alleged incident took place at the time it was alleged. However, they are happy to simply sit back and do nothing about it. It is always me having to contact them, they never contact me or update… Read Full Review

“Car Insurance”

Written on: 01/06/2017 by ejGriffin-Alt283 (1 review written)

I am really unhappy in the way Ageas has dealt with my policy. They had incorrect information about an accident which did not take place. I had to do my own chasing with the national database to prove that I did not have an accident when they said I did. This still was not good enough for them. They have threatened to increase my premium as they said I didn't respond to their letter which is a blatant lie. I have the emails as proof. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone. They have… Read Full Review

I'm really glad you've taken the time to write this review as I am having the exact same difficulty with this Company. I have been so frustrated having to chase them all the time instead of them updating me. I have provided them with all the required information to prove that no incident occurred yet they do not listen. It seems they take the side of the third party that is making a false claim even though they are supposed to be backing me up. I'm really at my wits end now. The last advisor I spoke to was extremely rude to me and I am going to take this much further.

“Money grabbing liars”

Written on: 06/05/2017

Ageas accepted liability for a car accident on my behalf without consulting me just before my renewal was due. Sent a letter informing me which was dated 31/03/17 but did not arrive until almost 2 weeks later after my renewal price had increased! They have been completely unprofessional through the whole thing and have not sent me telephone recordings in which they said they had told me about everything. Money grabbing liars. Their negligence in accepting liability on my behalf voided my own… Read Full Review

“Premium nearly doubled by collision which was not my fault”

Written on: 06/04/2017 by Alannaa1983 (1 review written)

Insured by Ageas in 2016/17. Had a claim in January when another driver drove into the back of my car whilst I was stationary. Ageas and other driver's side readily accepted it was totally his fault and I was told I wouldn't have to pay my policy excess and my no claims discount would be unaffected. In March,I received letter from my broker saying £414 to renew but when I tried to do so, they asked if I'd had any claims and, when I gave them the details, they said Ageas's price had gone up to… Read Full Review

“Worst experience of my life”

Written on: 03/04/2017 by Toptip (1 review written)

In November a vehicle went into my garden wall. I rang Ageas on the day and told them I had a witness. Their surveyor claimed the damage was wear and tear. I argued the case and complained to Age UK. In February a second surveyor was sent out who told me that it could not be wear and tear because it was a double retaining wall and the inner wall which holds the garden back had no damage. The insurance company then accepted my claim and the case was passed to a building contractor. I have now… Read Full Review

“Awful”

Written on: 27/03/2017 by 103Dougherty (1 review written)

I was stationary in traffic back in September 16. Car hit me from behind which shunted me into car in front. I hit my face on steering wheel and my passenger hurt her shoulder. Guy admitted liability so pretty straight forward...until tesco insurance put me onto Ageas law! It's now nearly April and I'm still waiting for it to be concluded! I had physio because my neck was hurt but other than that there were no other major issues. My passenger was told she would get over £3000 damages...but… Read Full Review

“Complaints to Financial Ombudsman are not hard”

Written on: 27/03/2017 by Noe248 (1 review written)

Cover in respect to building and in particular old roofs is very poor. It was not the Weather Bomb, Storm Doris, that caused the loss of tiles but poor maintenance or poor workmanship of regularly maintained roof. Will not be renewing and advise other not to either. Have just filled in my complaint to Ombudsman online. Policy is cheap but mostly not worth the paper it's written on. They did cover some aspect of claim and paid out but not major cost. Take regular photos of your roof as proof of… Read Full Review

They are obnoxious and rude and only want to stress you out. I was in a car accident. It was my friends car and ages law was acting for tesco car insurance. They have just taken the cheapest price for solicitors and you do get what you pay for cheat price for rubbish job. They say the camera video as feelings as I can't of hurt myself in that manner. I think because the driver stopped his case they closed mine. Tesco assigned Ageas Law to help me and After 7 months of everything being ok and… Read Full Review

“Woefully incompetent, takes the cheapest way out”

Written on: 24/02/2017

When I was involved in a road traffic collision in which a vehicle pulled out into me, I thought everything would be sorted out, and Ageas would take my corner. Whilst my collision involved me overtaking, I did so in a safe manner in which I see others doing on a daily basis on this stretch of road. A vehicle pulled out of a side road without looking, colliding into the side of my car. Minimal damage fortunately, all drivers were able to drive off after exchanging details. The claim was a… Read Full Review

“So bad that they shouldnt be allowed to trade”

Written on: 30/01/2017 by Liamii (1 review written)

My husbands van was stolen before Christmas which has been really traumatic time for him. His van was unfortunately insured with Ageas. Considering that we live in 21st century its beggars belief why nothing can be emailed to them, everything needs to be sent via post. Then “they haven’t received the documents” so you have to send them via recorded delivery-again. All to delay your claim and the outcome. They should be on their customer’s side, that is why we insure things- for… Read Full Review

“Worryingly incompetent”

Written on: 17/01/2017 by Seriouslywronged (3 reviews written)

Someone drove into the rear in June 2016. He and his insurers admitted liability immediately. My car was 'written off' and, mostly due to the incompetence and lack of straightforwardness of M&S Car Insurance (who I had been lead to believe until were the insurers but were apparently only the brokers and Ageas were in fact the insurers) Ageas paid out in August 2016 and I replaced my car. Matter concluded, or it should have been. Today, some 7 months later, Ageas have contacted me and… Read Full Review

Lrob123's Response to Seriouslywronged's Review

Written on: 09/08/2017

I'm having a similar difficulty with them! I thought I was insured by Rias but when someone reversed into my car in February 2017 which was parked in a hospital car park I then found out that it's Ageas that insured me.
I'm a community nurse with 17 years no claim bonus and returned to my car in the car park only to find that someone had damaged my car and driven off.
Thankfully there was cctv evidence which was given to Ageas (after I did all the leg work getting it for them) and the guy admitted liability
I was given no updates from Ageas at all and have had to chase them constantly for information.
4 weeks ago I received a cheque back for the excess payment I made (via New Law solicitors) and believed that the matter was closed but then last week received a load of documents from another law firm working on their behalf of Ageas which required my signature... this was for ME to take the guy to court who damaged my car and to attend court as required
Ageas tell me that although he admitted liability his insurance firm haven't paid for my repairs yet or been back in touch with them and as they can't take this guy to court as an individual they want me to do it and then pass the money back to them!!
To add insult to injury they say they can't make me do it but if I refuse I will lose 17 years no claim bonus and I will have to pay legal fees ??.
They are extremely rude towards me and say they have to get the money back for my repairs by any means and that it is my duty to comply and do everything I can to ensure they get their money.
To me it sounds more like threats and coercion!
I've taken this to the ombudsman and they are lodging a formal complaint on my behalf...
My advice AVOID them at all cost

“Rip Off Ageas Insurance”

Written on: 28/12/2016 by houseclearance9 (1 review written)

I purchased insurance for my van which was subsequently stolen in October . I filed a claim and today 28th December I had a call from a Claims handler for Ageas telling me they were not going to pay my claim. Bewiser was my broker but the insurer was Ageas , the same compant that underwrites SAGA insurance. I had gotten the van on finance so I had nothing to gain , I had assumed that buying fully comprehensive insurance would give me peace of mind. The circumstances of the theft. I had… Read Full Review
