We had a cracked drain, covered under the policy. We were discouraged from claiming. Then when we did claim, nothing was confirmed in writing. Then the job was given to their preferred contractor, Ansa, who were unable to give specifications, costs, guarantees, timings. They deliberately ignored emails and only answered basic questions in the briefest way, when we said we would cancel - despite the alarming problem we were facing. They continually told us when we telephoned that we had not paid our premium (we had) or that someone would get back to us (they didn't). The price Ansa quoted was well below our private quote (ie 15% of it) but once Ansa had the job, the price kept going up until it was on a par with our original quote with a different contractor. Finally, they told us by voicemail to pay Ansa the excess directly with no VAT invoice, no paperwork, no guarantee or report or specification. Just don't insure with Ageas or use Ansa - they are terrible.
