I got a quote to insure my slightly modified VW Splitscreen Campervan with Adrian Flux, which took a long time of waiting on hold to even get. It seemed ok at £650, slightly cheeper than HIC, so I accepted it. The documents came through with some wrong details on, so I phoned up to amend these details and was charged horrendous fees to do so even though it made my premium cheeper. After adding the amendments, I was told the new premium is now £613 so I thought great i am now owed some money, only for them to say i now owe £150 for making the changes! I asked what the money was for and it was broken down for me: two £35 fees from Adrian Flux, two lots of £20 fees from the company that owns Adrian Flux, and the other £40 for having had the wrong information on the policy for 3 weeks. I contested the ridiculous fees and was told they have to charge these fees but could take off one of the £35 fees for me. Great! So i now only have to pay an extra £115 in fees when my premium has in fact decreased by £37! If it wasn't such a pain to find an insurer to insure me on my campervan (as i am only 22) and the fact that they would charge me a fortune in 'admin fees' to leave them anyway, I would have left to find some other insurer. With all the other reviews about how they con you when you make a claim, I am very worried about the quality of my insurance with Adrian Flux, and so would definitely not recommend them. HIC seem like a much better choice now as the guys there actually know something about campers, I wish I had paid a bit extra and gone with them!
