“Taking money without permission”

Written on: 13/04/2012 by nutintu22

Before you read any further I will get to the point that both myself and my partner will be cancelling our policies with Admiral after our recent experience.

Money was debited from my partner's account without her permission. When this was queried we were told this was due to a claim I had made on my motorcycle insurance. She denied this. They said they would confer with call recordings. My partner was correct.

They now say that the charge was due to a claim I had made for a theft. I called Admiral to determine what help they may be able to give if my car had in fact been broken into and if the 'help' would affect my premium. After this consultation (two years ago) I decided to by a new lock from the dealership and fit it myself. I was assured that the 'advice' would not affect my premium.

My feeling is that Admiral have made a mistake by taking the money without a) permission and b) a valid reason and are now desperately trying to find excuses rather than refunding the money. I will now be starting proceedings to recover the money and changing insurance providers due to the stress Admiral have caused me.
