Worst Company ever- Ran into a little trouble with finances due to being in Hospital. Now I know this isn't the company's fault as it is my finances. However I rang the company to get a little help, who have the best customer Service ever (NOT) my Insurance was due on the 31st Aug for £263 I asked if I could pay £163 on the 21/08/16 then the other £100 on the 02/09/16. Hey, I totally agree. I was in Hospital and off work for Two weeks so my wage wasn't great. I rang Acorn, who have the best customer service (NOT) and explained my situation. I was told they couldn't help me . I offered to pay most of the £263 off my Insurance then the rest on the 2nd September I was told the payment was needed for the 31st August and if the full £263 wasn't paid by the 31st August my policy would be cancelled. Worst Company ever. I mean charging £263 a month for insurance is ridiculous.

Paid for a quote online!! They then made every excuse possible to say they couldn't insure me despite the quote being accepted on their website!!! then they were coming out with all sorts of rubbish trying to tell me that just because they changed my employment status to unemployed that the policy would go up by 200 alone extra for deposit and hundreds more for monthly installments, so obviously I demanded a full refund which they claimed they couldn't give me! I called for a quote with Acorn Insurance took a while to get through to the car team after being put through to different departments and the service I got from the agent was shocking. I am not going to mention names but the young man that I spoke to needs to be taken back into training. Agents are never available and they never call you back when they say they will. They literally just turned down my business because they supposedly couldn't find my details from my previous addresses in their system and couldn't get the right score. This company is awful. I've got a car inurement with them at the beginning of the year. I've changed my car 3 times this year and the first time they've cancelled my insurance for an old car and got me an insurance on the one I was changing onto. They charged me admin fees of £50 for it and had to pay a deposit once again. They never gave me a reason why just a normal vehicle change wasn't made. I've just received a letter from your representatives (Haven) in the form of an attached email demanding documents without stipulating what documents and a further threat in a separate email that my insurance will be cancelled in 7 days. Are you the Insurance mafia or something - what exactly will you achieve by antagonising customers in this way? I will be taking this matter to the Insurance Ombudsman to show how terrible your representatives behave - this is the UK, we have the 'rule of law' here. Making threats to cancel a person's insurance policy without giving specific reasons will lead your unfortunate customers to think your out to get as much money as you can through devious means. Shocking !!!

Called customer services but no answer after waiting on hold for 45 minutes!!! I pay these guys 10% of the average UK salary every month (to essentially do nothing) and they can't even pick up the phone... An absolute joke. What on earth are they spending all our money on? Because it sure as hell isn't customer service.... A Joke. AVOID - contacting my bank and FCA as not even sure these guys are real?? I've tried every number but just rings out. The hold time you have mentioned is certainly too long to wait and does not represent the commitment we show to our customers ensuring that all call answer times at Acorn Insurance are well below the time you state.

In fact in we aim to get to every customer within 30 seconds of you dialling our number.
