Written on: 25/08/2014 by mickbee89 (1 review written)

Acorn insurance were quick to take a £300 DEPOSIT out of my bank account, then write to me 7days later saying there is NO INSURANCE COVER IN PLACE! After taking a £300 deposit out of your bank anyone would automatically believe their policy is now active, however after driving nearly 300miles i recieve a letter stating i am not insured and no cover has EVER been in place!! Discusting behaviour and on top of that, my £300 REFUND WILL TAKE 3 DAYS!! So how am i suppossed to pay the £150… Read Full Review

I am trying to get a quote and hopefully insurance for my new car. I have never heard of these guys but it seems like they are specialist and don't insure the normal guy with loads of no claims bonuses. I am not that normal guy and have a bit of a bad license and after speaking to these guys they gave me exactly what I needed, this review makes no sense, they quite clearly don't want a 72 with no claims or convictions, they are trying to quote for people who cant get or struggler to get decent insurance quotes. These reviews make it harder to make a judgment, and certainly don't help me which is what I thought this site would do, I am going to go with them anyway!

i joined a company called "acorn insurance" once joining them i had a car accident, when contacting them to report the accident they said they had taken it down. Two days after the accident i contacted them again to find out about the courtacy car that was promised once joining them if i had an accident, it has now been six days and every time I call them they seem to put me on hold or tell me they will "call back". Recently I received a letter from them stating that they will cancel my… Read Full Review

“After taking card payment for your deposit, you would...”

Written on: 15/06/2014 by abigrant (1 review written)

After taking card payment for your deposit, you would be asked to give them a call in order to validate your claims. You would then be asked a lot of personal deep questions in order to find a reason to cancel your policy. £25 will be deducted from your deposit due to no reason of yours. They surely are living on the £25 and I call that day light robbery. This company needs to be investigated… Read Full Review

I was charged £78.75 for cancelling within 48 hrs. No documents had been drawn up I didn't even have a policy no. No details had been validated. Yet they had the cheek to charge me for cancelling!!! They do need investigating

Just got a quote online in excess of £18,000.00. I have 11 years no claims bonus and my son has 1 year no claims bonus. My son is 19 and in full time education (university). Because he is between 17-24 and male he is automatically classed as high risk. He has a black box on his current vehicle so perhaps insurers can obtain the data recorded within the box, prior to preparing such an outrageous quotation! Acorn have quoted £18,000.00, knowing that my son is in full time university and… Read Full Review

“Driving conviciton insurance”

Written on: 20/01/2014 by qa3294 (1 review written)

I got a driving conviction, quite a bad one, I still feel bad saying it out loud. Anyway I finished my ban and started looking for insurance, I was really not looking forward to paying extra and people looking down there noses at me, but luckily I found Acorn. They made me feel very comfortable, didn't judge they just found me a great price and even said they are to help people who make mistakes. Really happy and lesson learnt!… Read Full Review

Insurance might be expensive everywhere but with Acorn its through the roof. If you have a IN10 its even worse. If you miss a payment you have a week to make payment, yet you pay must pay a missed payment fee of £25. Customer service is not the best either, needs to be improved big time. There is no online payment/account option, so you can make payment by direct debit, automated telephone payment or through customer service. Its partner companies are Haven and Rapid Vehicle Management… Read Full Review

“System flawed or trying to catch you out”

Written on: 23/10/2012 by nasman234 (0 reviews written)

I am in the unfortunate position of having an IN10 on my licence meaning my options are limited. After speaking to broker king (part of A & A group) who seem to inflate their prices with no actual reason, my next option was Acorn Insurance. So I bought the insurance putting everything to the best of my knowledge including to claims, one being an accident and another being a theft of vehicle. Once bought I was advised I need to call to confirm all my details. When speaking on the phone to a… Read Full Review

They take your card payment, ask you to call them to validate your claims. They ask all sort of questions and will find a way to cancel your insurance and deduct £25 off the deposit you made. I will advice people to stay clear of them.
