Just got a quote online in excess of £18,000.00. I have 11 years no claims bonus and my son has 1 year no claims bonus. My son is 19 and in full time education (university). Because he is between 17-24 and male he is automatically classed as high risk. He has a black box on his current vehicle so perhaps insurers can obtain the data recorded within the box, prior to preparing such an outrageous quotation! “Driving conviciton insurance”

I got a driving conviction, quite a bad one, I still feel bad saying it out loud. Anyway I finished my ban and started looking for insurance, I was really not looking forward to paying extra and people looking down there noses at me, but luckily I found Acorn. They made me feel very comfortable, didn't judge they just found me a great price and even said they are to help people who make mistakes. Really happy and lesson learnt!… Read Full Review

Insurance might be expensive everywhere but with Acorn its through the roof. If you have a IN10 its even worse. If you miss a payment you have a week to make payment, yet you pay must pay a missed payment fee of £25. Customer service is not the best either, needs to be improved big time. There is no online payment/account option, so you can make payment by direct debit, automated telephone payment or through customer service. its absolutely disgusting the prices they charge at acorn as soon as October comes around im leaving without a doubt!! got a new car recently and every other car insurance quoted my husband and I who are almost 40 about 420 a year...... ACORN OVER 1000!!! this cant be right but unfortunately the car has left us broke so unable to switch until our renewel date is here..... im fuming

“System flawed or trying to catch you out”

I am in the unfortunate position of having an IN10 on my licence meaning my options are limited. After speaking to broker king (part of A & A group) who seem to inflate their prices with no actual reason, my next option was Acorn Insurance. So I bought the insurance putting everything to the best of my knowledge including to claims, one being an accident and another being a theft of vehicle.
