WITHOUT DOUBT, THE 'WORST' COMPANY I HAVE'EVER'DEALT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! These people have little or no compassion to a person's needs. They have no empathy when a person is experiencing difficulty when it comes to making payments on the policy EVEN when it is not the fault of the policy holder in question. And when I was trying to explain the problem I had in making a payment to the female member of staff, she didn't even give me a chance to explain my circumstances.Every time I went to say something, she kept on rudely interrupting me at every opportunity, and instead proceeded to give me a 'scripted' response, and made threats to cancel my policy if didn't pay the installment by the the specified date, even though it was ONLY 3 DAYS LATE! And they wacked on a £20 late payment fee for good measure! I was in such a state, that I ended up going to my gp, who put me on a course of medication to combat my panic attacks. I also went to my local citizens advice bureau, and an advisor there had to speak to the member of staff at Acorn Insurance to come try and come to an arrangement, as it was evident that the staff there are not willing to cooperate directly with the policyholder.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! AND MY ADVICE IS TO STICK WITH THE MORE REPUTABLE COMPANIES LIKE CHURCHILL, AS ACORN INSURANCE ARE SIMPLY OUT TO RINSE AS MUCH MONEY OUT OF YOU AS THEY CAN! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Hey, I totally agree. I was in Hospital and off work for Two weeks so my wage wasn't great. I rang Acorn, who have the best customer service (NOT) and explained my situation. I was told they couldn't help me . I offered to pay most of the £263 off my Insurance then the rest on the 2nd September I was told the payment was needed for the 31st August and if the full £263 wasn't paid by the 31st August my policy would be cancelled. Worst Company ever. I mean charging £263 a month for insurance is ridiculous.
