I went to A-Plan to insure a subaru impreza STI wagon. I had tried to find quotes from many other insurers, some of whom would not entertain the car as it was an import. I phoned A Plan and they were really really helpful. I got a quote of about £550 which was much much better than some who wanted over £1000 for the same cover!
The cover I wanted was comprehensive with a protect NCB and windscreen cover, legals etc. They provided me with a fast and efficient service and always remained competitive. I stayed with them until the car was sold as no-one could touch the level of cover and premium.
Claimed for a windscreen in the depths of winter 2010 and it was sorted.The windscreen company were far from helpful but APlan dealt with them and got it all sorted for me as the screeen I need was expensive and specialist by all accounts. The excess was reasonable at £60. Beware that many low-cost insurers now have huge windscreen excesses to keep premiums low!
