Our holiday got off to a bad start because we were running round Palma airport looking for the rentals desk to discover that we were actually picking our car up from an off-site office. We found another family looking for the same company and after two phone calls a mini bus finally arrived to take us there.
The office was about ten minutes drive from the airport in the middle of an industrial estate just off the motorway. After ten minutes filling in more documentation we were finally given a Fiat 500 with about 5000 km on it. We were instructed that we had to check the car over for marks or dents. We thought that this should have been done either jointly or by the rental company before the car was given to us. This concerned us because we didnt feel qualified to do this and were scared that we might have missed something. We were also,in our opinion, charged over the going rate for a full tank of petrol before setting off.
Nevertheless we wre given a super little car with a sunroof and my husband really enjoyed driving it for the week. We were a bit concerned about how we would actually find the car rental office again on our return to Palma as the map we had been given by OK Car Rentals was very basic. Thanks to google maps and the directions given to us by our hotel manager we found the office ok.
