Rental from Heathrow. The price of the initial rental was found and booked online. It was cheap, though everything seemed fine. On arrival they upgraded me to a bigger car, then charged me for a full tank of fuel, telling me that because I booked through an agent there was a change of conditions. I was then told to bring it back empty.

On return they found a very small scuff on one wheel, and proceeded to charge me 97.50 GBP for a new alloy. Unbelievable !! Just because of a small scuff that did not interfere with the driving and could not even be seen from 10 feet away. The tyre had no damage whatsoever. I do not know how the scuff happened but I'm pretty sure I wasn't responsible.

Yes, I went over the car with a fine tooth comb when I picked it up, but I must have missed that scuff. It didn't even look new, as it was all black and dirty.
