“Avoid!!!”

We booked a bus from routemaster for our wedding in July 2013. 3 days before the wedding they called us saying the engine on a bus broke down and offered us either taxis or disgusting looking yellow coach. We went for taxis as we were told 40 other bus companies did not have any buses available and were told the price works out the same price as I paid for the bus, this is the quote from the company:
"The price for the cabs worked out the same price as your bus hire. We can therefore only refund you for the additional extras that you paid for; Time Change, Ribbon and Personalised Sign, Totalling £185.00".
We rang the taxis which were booked for our wedding to check the price and it was £200 difference!!!!!!! Addison Lee charge £48 on this route what is 8x£48=£384 not £586 what we paid for bus and we did not receive any invoice for those taxis. When we called the director ( Mr D ) he was quite rude and said the £200 difference was spent on phone calls and behind the scene arrangements of those taxis. He did refuse to sent new contract too.

So we paid the money and DID NOT get what we paid money for ie the double decker bus. When we mentioned we gonna write a review about our experience first he said he doesn't care about reviews but at the end he started threatening not to "mess" with him and he would send his solicitors to sue us and get thousand pounds out of us.

Maybe we should be more careful when we decide to go with this company as the first warning was no full address and land line phone number on the website. We wish we have read the reviews before we booked and check this company and director at http://companycheck.co.uk/. 
As normal people would offer a discount for not providing a service we paid for, we just got rudeness and threats. So never ever again we would use routemaster and wish we never contacted them!!!!!!!!!!! Taxi service was absolutely fine but its just the lie from the company about prices, that's what got us upset. And we and our guests were really disappointed not to travel in a double decker bus!!

Take them to court for the money you've lost on this booking. That's what I'm doing and it's actually quite easy to do. Go to moneyclaim.gov.uk. You dont need a solicitor and the fee is reasonable. If you win they will have to pay the fee anyway. This company is ripping everyone off and they shouldn't get away with it. The more people take them to court, the better.
