I get use to drive a Serena for a company of 3 couples in Japan. I drove the car hired through rentalcars for several previous trips, namely, Nagoya, North Kyshu, Okinawa and this last tripp to Osaka/Shikoku. The cars are in good conditions and generally well maintained.
Rentalcars as a vending agent is responsive and helpful. Messages are normally easily got through and with prompt response. It adds confidence for driving an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar country. However, as the title of this message goes, you can be paying as much as 20-30% more when you are in an urge to commit due to strained planning situation.
I hire Nissan again through Rentalcars for an Elgrand to Hokaido in May 2017. It charges me $9255 HK Dollars for 5 days. It is obviously too much to a loyal customer in me. My advice is thus to compare, check out carefully and wait patiently before firm up. There is no use to commit too much in advance due to misleading information, such as 'no car available' and 'sold out very soon', etc. etc.
