Budget rental vehicle

Had a bad experience with another rental car broker one month prior. Had an accident and despite the broker claiming nothing to pay in case of an accident I am AUD $2,000 out of pocket with no hope of recovery.

Due to this had to cough up an additional USD $350 at the rental desk for this rental to ensure no repeat as Rentalcars.com made the same claims about nothing further to pay that the previous broker made.

Brokers just wash their hands of the deal once things go pear shaped and refer you to the rental company.

Found that the car had a seriously defective tyre fitted that was not noticed during the inspection in the dark garage. Also found that model vehicle did not have a spare tyre as standard equipment.

Tried to call the emergency number without success. Emailed Budget twice to arrange replacement but only an automated response so had to risk travelling on the defective tyre for the 7 days of the rental with the prospect of no help from Budget if it failed and we were stranded.
