It seems that any driver over 75 is now required to provide in addition to their UK licence (both parts) a letter from their doctor confirming fitness to drive and their own current certificate of insurance for their own car. Surely this is unnecessary as the doctor has to rely on his patient reporting his own ability to drive and if the UK government has issued a licence, this should be enough. More paperwork at increased cost to the driver.
