In fairness to rentalcars.com, I have used their site for numerous bookings without ever a problem - until Air Car in Casablanca this November.

The experience was so bad it would take an essay to write up properly.

In summary however and to start with the rental office was unmanned on arrival and when the male operator turned up after 20 minutes he was simply rude and aggressive.

To my surprise he demanded the non pre paid sums be paid to him in cash only ( without receipt) yet was happy to take a 1000 euro pre authorisation on my credit card.

The car supplied was dirty, damaged in numerous areas and worst of all so empty of fuel that I barely made it to a service station.

Worst of all the car with more than 60,000 kilometres struggled to idle threatening to always stall and if you attempted to take it over 80 kph it shuddered.

Never rent from Air Car !

I have has similar problems with rentalcars.com. Have had 200 days plus from them in the past without incident. But when something goes wrong you get the run around and basically they are not interested. They are fraudsters and once they have your money they could care less whether your vehicle is roadworthy or not and ultimately if you are safe or not. Spend a couple more pounds and go direct with a major supplier.
