I rented a car for 15 days with the rentalcars.com in September 2012. I withdrew and returned the vehicle at Lisbon Airport. The rate for rent was charged in advance at a cheaper price than other rental companies available in Portugal, estimated at EUR 450. However, two days before I pick up the car I was contacted by an agent of the rentalcars.com offering a tax that will refund the protection charge, saying that locally I would pay twice. I paid over EUR 97.3. Then I had to pay 50 euros by additional driver at the time of vehicle pickup. Sum: EUR 597.3. After returning the rental company charged a fee of $ 60 and tried to charge another $ 40. I tried contacting the rentalcars.com, including the agent who sent me several emails before the service. Without reply. Estimated Total: EUR 674, price almost equal to the traditional companies. Cost of time spent and headache: incalculable.I do not recommend the rentalcars.com, especially if you are traveling with family and children.
