I hired two vehicles from RentalCars.com from Malaga in August. Both cars were excellent - new, clean and well presented. I searched the internet to get the best deals and RentalCars.com were the cheapest hire company by some way.

My two concerns were firstly that the queue at the rental desk (Record car hire) for the first vehicle was excessive. A tip here would be to either take hand luggage only or to have one member of your party collect the cases from the luggage carousel whilst the other goes downstairs straight away to beat the ensuing queue.

Secondly the price you pay to RentalCars.com does not represent the whole hire costs, both Record car hire and Goldcar required us to pay their inflated petrol costs and gave us a choice of leaving a massive 400 euro deposit or paying £40-£50 to get fully comprehensive insurance for the week.

This may be the case with other rental companies too - as ever read the small print!
