The moral to the issue below is: NEVER make your booking with rentalcars.com ALWAYS deal direct with the company that is providing the car. rentalcars.com's customer service skills left a lot to be desired and showed no empathy.
My issue is with rentalcars.com whom we initially booked the hire car with, NOT Alamo in Weymouth where we picked the car up from. My partner & I inadvertently paid the insurance on the car twice and we were not able to get a reversal on our debit card. Alamo were very understanding & apologetic of this issue but there was nothing they could do. rentalcars.com would not speak to us and fobbed us off.
