We hired through a car from Alicante Airport from RentalCars.com.
The company supplying the car was Drivalia. first there was 83 Euros for a tank full of fuel at least one third of which we weren't going to use. When the car broke down on the third day at 17:30 we phoned the Drivalia number. They were not at all helpful. We were about 10km out of Denia so not exactly in the backwoods but they would send a recovery vehicle to assess the breakdown by about 21:00 or else the next morning. Replacement car - no chance until the vehicle had been assessed. Symptoms of the breakdown - one very large bang then nothing from the engine, it transpired that a piston rod had broken. These things happen but as a customer one expects some customer care, this was distinctly lacking with Drivalia. We eventually got a replacement car at 19:30 the following day. There was no compensation for loss of amenity but by this stage this was expected.
Moral don't ever use Drivalia and don't use RentalCars.com
