We rented a car for pickup from Record at Malaga Airport, via CarHire3000 in the UK, for a ‘total’ of £121.31 I read these reviews before travelling and feared the worst. The girl on the Record desk was particularly grumpy and I was cross when I heard I had to pay an additional 69.75€ for the fuel and 41.64€ for ‘Comfort Plus Insurance’, even though I knew these were in the small print of the contract. I didn’t realise I could have just paid a deposit instead of the latter daily charge. The car was in a pretty dire state – lots of minor scuffs and scrapes, the parcel shelf was broken and the cigarette lighter dangling on wires. None of this was shown on the paperwork we were given. Apart from that, the car drove just fine. On returning the car we were greeted by a charming smiley operator who said all she needed was the key. I said I had bought the car back with all the same scrapes it had when I collected it. She said yes, I’m afraid they’re all in that state!
