I booked a car through Auto Europe, which was directed to Hertz. Hertz refused to accept the MasterCard that I used to pay for the car as a deposit, and would not give me the car. They then said that they would accept the card, but if they did they would not refund the deposit of 4 x the cost of the prepaid rental cost. I was not refunded by Auto Europe, and I was not given a car. I had to go door to door to the other car rental companies and eventually found a car at Thrifty for a much higher price. They had no problem with my MasterCard and told me that Hertz should also have been able to process the card, as Auto Europe did when I paid for the car in the first place. Daylight Robbery, and a complete scam!
