Had a good laugh they sent me a customer satisfaction survey. Long story short, I was tricked like everyone else. I rent cars frequently often and know the drill, so I would think reading the "important information" from the rental voucher provided by Booking is enough, and I don't need to read full T&Cs. Wrong. I booked the car on Booking and paid with Amex, then brought my license and a "credit card at my name" to the store near (well, not really) Liverpool Airport. As with many other people here, I was told they cannot accept neither my Amex nor my virtual Barclaycard under their T&Cs. They lied that Amex is not a credit card, but a charge card (which is true only for business, but irrelevant in any case). They were nevertheless happy to take my Amex or ApplePay when I switched to another tariff of £250. The salespeople have all answers prepared for your questions. So it is clearly not a situation of "sorry, there is missing information on the Rental Voucher, let's find a solution". It is a swindle. The booking was also not cancellable, so I was trapped and set to lose money in any case. If I had a physical Visa or Mastercard on me, nothing would have happened (though judging by other reviews, it seems GreenMotion would have found a way to charge me extra for insurance or damage). Booking also referred me to full T&Cs, as if it was not them to issue a misleading Rental Voucher in the first place. So no more using Booking as a broker for me either. The rental price was not so substantially lower for me to suspect an issue from the beginning, but from now on I will be more careful. Never book here and if you have, please, make sure to complain here, on Google and to the aggregator where you booked. Hopefully, this company will not be recommended.

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!”

Avoid this company like the plague!! If you turn up with a debit card instead of a credit card they charge you an extra £190!! They will show you the smallest of small print that states this but beware of companies that resort to this tactic to take money of customers!! Needless to say we didn't pay this and walked over to the Enterprise car rental and booked a car on the spot for £70 on our debit card. The Green motion staff were extremely rude as well. Terrible company with terrible staff!!!

“A Great Service”

I haven’t had good experiences with car hire companies in the past. I decided to try Green Motion for a change. Well I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, The staff couldn’t do enough for me. They were friendly and polite and offered me an upgrade. I hired the car from 28th July to 26th August and it was great. I will definitely use this company again and i will be recommending themto my family and friends.

“First time with Greenmotion”

I don't normally bother with feedback sites but felt compelled to do something this time. Rented a car for a long weekend and was very impressed with the professional, friendly and courteous service we received at Liverpool airport. We were picked up outside the airport and dropped-off at the end. We received a nicer car (BMW M5 Series 1) for a very small upgrade price, which was only a few months old and returned 60mpg! Would I return? Absolutely....and I own and run a motorcycle hire business, so know what I'm talking about (I hope!!).

I was a little apprehensive with it not being inside the terminal and hadn't read the best reviews. I waited only a few minutes for pickup from the airport. The staff were so friendly and it was a very quick waiting time. I was given a brand new car which was immaculate and had no problems at all. The fuel was low but as it had only just arrived I didn't mind too much. I had paid a young driver fee but that's to be expected. Had no problems at all and on return I waited a few minutes for them to check the car over and then they took me back to the airport. Will definitely use them again. Thanks for a great experience!

“Terrible Company”

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Green Motion at Liverpool are a shockingly bad car hire company in my opinion. It took them over 35 minutes for them to come and pick us up at Liverpool Airport. The car was absolutely filthy outside and not much better inside. The company charged me a fee to come to the drop off centre early (7:00AM)the person did not arrive until 7:20 and still charged me a fee. I had to call the company 3 times to try to get them to release the excess hold that they put on my debit card. They blamed the bank and it was not the bank's fault. It was their error. Then to top it all off, they charged me an £84.00 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE for a parking fine that I knew nothing about, thinking that this covered the parking fine which was £60.00 I said nothing and put it down to my own stupidity but no. The fine is still in place and I need to pay that as well which is now £100.00. I found the staff at every turn unhelpful and generally unpleasant to deal with. If you have any sense you will avoid this company. I will never use them again and I will do my best to discourage anyone who may use this company being fooled (as I was) by their seemingly low prices.

“I booked and paid Atlas choice for an economy sized...”

I booked and paid Atlas choice for an economy sized car from Green Motion at Liverpool airport. I was collected by a minibus and taken to their office as promised. Only en-route there was I told:- 1 They were in dispute with Atlas choice so I would have to pay a second time for the car I'd hired. 2. They then gave me a mini model, a Citroen C1, not the the economy model I'd paid twice for, they lied repeatedly that the C1 is an economy model equal to a Polo. 3 To add insult to injury, they tried to charge me for the free minibus pick up. Not recomended at all.

“Total satisfaction”

Total satisfaction??? Absolutely, with my hand on my heart. We have used Green Motion twice now, that means we have been looked after by several members of staff. Always courteous, go beyond "ordinary" levels of service. By that I mean that they do everything possible to fulfill their customers expectaions, even when under pressure of several customers awaiting their attention. In fact, that would be an area where the management could help them. To have at least two members of staff on duty at the same time. One member of staff one their own is challenging, when they have several customers awaiting attention.

“Could do better”

Car was good clean tidy new registration and as requested. Not so good no information on interior workings of car had to find out myself gradually. Waited 20-30 minutes for pick up at airport in the cold. Another 20-30 minutes doing paperwork plus guy checking car for various scratches that were not significant to a past customer (Small dents deep scratches or other accidental damage I can understand) this pre-check was just silly, tiny little marks that were probably caused by stone chips???. Anyway the hand over after 4 days was better and quicker why did they not carry out a similar check post hire?. Also we had to pay £4 extra for car parks pick up and drop off I didn't agree with that ,why was that not mentioned in there information post booking so I don't think we will book with them again.

have just returned my vehicle to liverpool airport branch of green motion,first class from start to finish,booked a hyundi i30 or similar and was given a upgrade to a outlander hybrid,fabulous car,no hard sell at pick up just the usual excess insurance offered ,i have a annual policy that was the end of the hard sell, the person I dealt with went over the features of the car with me so i was able to drive off with the essential knowledge ,this was a pleasnt change from most car rentals who hand over the keys and tell you were the car is,the car had three thousand miles on the clock,the person I dealt with and myself inspected the vehicle with a fine toothcomb for existing damage and duly noted all minor scratches etc,on return the young chap at the office did all the usual checks and agreed all was well i signed the paperwork and away we went,my wife left her sunglasses in the vehicle we returned to the branch and was re united with them immediately,all in all a very good value for money transaction,no hanging around in queues,would happily recommend this branch of green motion my thanks to all at the depot.

“Terrible company!!!! Don't ever use them ..”

Hired a car from green motion in April 2015, before taking the car the employee did an extremely detailed inspection of the car, marked off one small mark and said that there was probably a few other tiny marks but that they were negligible. On return of the car next day a different employee did another very detailed search of the car and noticed two tiny marks that were not not noticeable at a standing distance, he said not to worry I wouldn't be charged and was about to drop me back to the terminal when the owners brother insisted on checking the car and claimed I had to pay for the damage, the marks were so tiny that they would easily be polished off in two minutes with a cloth, this man insisted that I had to pay and they took €450 from my credit card, I am in the process of trying to get it back.. I really don't know how any of the previous reviews can be true as when I googled 'reviews on green motion' a long list of very dissatisfied customers have posted complaints about this company, don't EVER use them..

It unfortunate when we have to charge for damage. We try to be as transparent as possible allowing the customers to see our damage charge sheet before even taking the car. (no other company that we know of does this) There was no hidden costs and the customer was dealt with in a cautious and kind manor throughout their experience. However the car was damaged and action was taken to make sure we had our repair costs covered.

We used this company recently and were similarly ripped off to the tune of £522 for a tiny scratch on the alloy wheel which we know we had not caused.. They also altered our pre authorisation deposit amount from £250 without our knowledge. We only found out that they were claiming the £522 when the fraud department of our credit card company rang to ask us if the payment was correct. Luckily the credit card company, on listening to the facts have returned our money. It would appear (according to our credit card company) that the way they managed to increase the pre-authorisation deposit amount without our knowledge! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

“Another great rental”

Having used this small rental company a few times now I thought it would be only be fair to write a few words to help them on their way. A first I was a little unsure with off airport location, but it is a simple phone call when you land to arrange collection and a short drive. The staff are helpful and welcoming and the cars are reasonably priced, clean and new. What else could you want? I would strongly recommend this service to anyone that is looking for a rental in the Liverpool area! Keep up the good work! JP

“Not a happy customer”

Before my arrival at Liverpool airport, I thought this company were great; they had text me with the arrangements and what I needed to do. Seemed very organised. However, once I got there, they did not seem as organised. I rang, they said they'd be there shortly to collect me in my hire car. 5 minutes later, they rang to say someone else on my flight needed collected so it would be a different vehicle I would be collected in. I thought they would have some form of system running and would be aware that we were both arriving at the same time, and would need collected together. Anyway, I waited...and waited, the man finally arrived. He was over the top to start with, but this soon changed. I had arranged my reservation by email, explaining that I was under 25 and did not own a credit card. Again, they did not seem aware of this when I got to their office. Tried to add on additional charges, which l wasn't having as the emails said that these were already included. Then, they charged me for the lift from the airport to their office, yes only a few pound but not the point! It should be included in the service, as advertised. He then informed me that the excess on my insurance cover had gone up by a couple of hundred pounds. Surely this should remain the same as what it was when I made the booking. I was also told that he had to take an extra £300 out of my account as I did not have a credit card and this would be refunded to me when I returned the car.. this has never happened to me before but I just wanted to get on the road, I'd be up since 5.30am and this was close to 8pm, so I agreed. The car itself was great, high spec, 1000miles on the clock, I used £5 petrol and it was nice to drive. Just was I wanted. Returning the car was another issue. I walked into the office, nobody on the desk. The same man then came out of what looked like a very unorganised back office. He said he needed to go check the car, I said I would go to, he said no and snatched the key from me. On his return he informed me that there was a dent in the door but if I left a good report online, he wouldn't charge me. There was no dent that I could see. The refunded then took 4 days to come back into my account. As someone who works in a customer service based role, I would not use this service again.

“Liverpool green motion is the best”

I went to Liverpool for 4days holiday. I rented a vw golf from green motion. Peter the staff of the green motion was so helpful and friendly. He came over to picked us up at the airport and it only took 5 mins to get the paper works sorted. We had a 2014 vw golf which is very nice to drive. We returned the car at the end of the holiday. It only took peter about 2 mins to check over the car. Then he gave us a lift back to the airport for free. I am really impressed by the professionalism and friendly service provided . Peter is a star. I will use this company again in the future.
