They are specialists to find scratches that you didn't make are doesn't exist, and not only that the amount they are taking for the scratches you didn't make.
And they are giving you car you didn't book.

Green Motion hook you with VERY cheap deals but then they trick you..!
One of these tricks - as reported widely - is to fine you heavily for insignificant "damage" or even pre-existing "damage". Perhaps fortunately I didn't get that far because I never even got my car..!
Their "office" - a tiny grubby room with unsmiling staff - is off-airport you have to go there by shuttle, so you are sort of held hostage should you not like their conditions. I was immediately hit with the very unusual condition (in the very small print) of ONLY CREDIT CARDS accepted. I only have debit cards but I have rented scores of cars all over the world in all 5 continents and have only ever used a debit card, so this was totally unexpected.
When I told the unsmiling woman that I had rented from Green Motion Gatwick before (in 2015 apparently) she said "most rental companies no longer accept debit cards". And she gave me some absurd story about how so many people steal cars and take them to the continent, etc, etc. This was all rubbish and I soon found out why.
In fact they DO accept debit cards but ONLY if you pay an extra £10-20 a day to "reduce the excess". I told her that I have a separate insurance which covers that, but she wouldn't budge. Being tired after a long day of travel I angrily agreed to pay the ransom but said "I'll be giving you a bad review". At that point she flat out refused to rent me the car and told me to leave the office. I'm sure she must have done this before to many other customers.
I had to return to the airport and rent with one of the regular companies who have their bases there. There were NO problems with using a debit card with any of the companies I asked.
The upshot is that I lost my £105 deposit paid to rentalcars.com. I have since heard that their staff get paid commission selling this "insurance" and she probably knew that she would also get a commission from my cancellation since Green motion got my money (via rentalcars.com) but I didn't get a car..!!!

I AM A MANAGER OF A CAR HIRE COMPANY IN CYPRUS AND RECENTLY BOOKED A CAR THROUGH RENTALCARS.COM WITH GREEN MOTION, FOR MY STAY IN THE UK.
I RECEIVED THE BEST SERVICE EVER, WAS PICKED UP FROM THE PICK UP POINT WITHIN 5 MINS, FILLED IN ALL THE PAPERWORK ETC AND WAS ON MY WAY WITHIN 10MINS. THE PRICE WAS AMAZING, THE STAFF WERE SO FRIENDLY & HELPFUL AND THE REFUELING CHARGE WAS CHEAPER THAN IF I HAD FILLED THE CAR UP MYSELF.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AND WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

Took €96 From My Credit Card 2 Months After A Rent
Took €96 from my credit card 2 months after a rental, said it was for an admin fee on a ticket which was incorrectly issued and subsequently cancelled. Refused to refund money.

Beware Hidden Costs And Pushes For Upgrades
Be aware that the driver needs to have a credit card in their name or they will rip you off big time. My wife doesn't have a credit card but is the main driver. When collected car was told would need to pay £90 to use a debit card as lowering insurance premium. Would not accept my credit card to cover my wife. Only cheaper way was to add myself as an additional driver even though had no intention of driving to be able to use my credit card. Charged £50 for the privilege. My fault for not reading all the fine print. Also tried to sell me additional satnav which didn't want. When got in the car, there was an inbuilt satnav. Just intent on ripping off.
Also went with Green Motion due to green credentials of being carbon neutral. So was disappointed to be given a diesel car.

We have used Greenmotion several times and have always had good clean cars, also they check the car before you leave so no nasty surprises later.

On arriving at Bristol I was refused a car on the grounds that my debit card was not valid because it was a Visa Electron. On my booking voucher it clearly states that Meastro and Solo are not accepted but says nothing about Visa. I used the card to pay for the car on the internet. I have used this card to hire 3 cars last year, lastly in early December in Stansted. Great inconvenience caused. Reasons given totally ridiculous and now I find that the money is not being refunded. On consulting further, I am told that this is not acceptable as I did not cancel it. They could choose to refuse the car but not to keep the money. While waiting in their office, I saw them charge two people 15 pounds for a DVLC check when it clearly states that this should be 10 pounds. The second person spotted this luckily and they backed down but clearly not acceptable. I will be taking this further and would strongly recommend anyone to avoid Green Motion Bristol and/or be extremely careful about what you are being charged for. Very shoddy.
Same thing happened to us. Green Motion Bristol seem to be operating a variety of methods to extract as much money from people as possible. Lesson for all: AVOID Green Motion car hire at all costs.

Cancellation Policy
A few weeks ago i hired a car with Green Motion through a company called Holiday autos.As it was a nice day i decided to walk the 8 miles to the airport.When i arrived i was told i needed 2 photo id's which i didn't have.Unwilling to make a 16 mile round trip i asked what the cancellation policy was.The lady said that there would be no charge as the rental would not be activated (her exact words).
The next day i discovered Holiday autos were in fact taking the full amount £96.i rang Green Motion to say that since i was being charged i would take the car but they said no car was available.a quick check on both their and holiday autos websites showed this to be untrue.
I complained to Holiday autos and they graciously gave me a £48 refund but took £48 'administration'fees.
I wrote to Green Motion asking for an explanation but unsurprisingly they haven't replied.
