If you go with this car rental company, you will almost certainly regret it. For a family holiday in Tuscany we bogged two cars for a week and we definitely should not have give with this shameless outfit. When we arrived at the desk it was a barrage of extras that you had to pay for. 1) they give you the car with a full tank of fuel and take €74 as a fuel deposit which was around double the price of what it cost to fill the car and they said if we take it back with a full tank then they will keep €30 as commission so you have no choice but to buy their hugely over process fuel. 2) the guy told is to take excess insurance at €12 per day but we had already purchased excess insurance from another company, gold car told us straight that if we had an accident they would deliberately obstruct that company from reimbursing the excess to us to the point where they would refuse to even confirm that there had been an accident. 3) they told us that if the car has a mechanical fault we have to pay for it from the €2000 deposit they took.... We have to pay for their lack of car maintenance! 4) they do not accept debit card, pre paid credit cards, 5) you can only pay oh the very card that you booked with and no other.

This company deserve to go out of business and I hope they do very soon.

Dear customer,

Please allow me to explain our Flex Fuel policy: customers pre-purchase a full tank and receive a refund for unused fuel, minus a handling and administration fee (the vehicle needs to be driven to be refueled and cannot be rented out in the meantime). With this plan customers benefit from our Quick Return System, they don't have to worry about refueling the vehicle close to the office before returning it or wait for the tank to be checked.

Please note that our basic coverage always contemplates an excess (please see our T&Cs). If customers have third party coverage, such as yourself, they can request a refund from them in case of damages. Additional insurance is offered for customers’ peace of mind and always as an alternative to blocking a deposit on a credit card (unblocked 15-20 days later if the vehicle is returned in the same condition).

Please note that, as stated in our T&Cs, we do not accept, Diners Club, American Express, Postepay or cash at the counter and that our offices in Italy do not accept debit cards. The credit card used must be in the name of the main driver on the rental agreement.
