I hired via Holiday Autos and purchased my own insurance excess to cover excess charges if required. I collected from Alicante airport and was given the hard sell to purchase their own cover at £17 a day. I was told that my cover was useless and didn't cover the car enough, I had 4 small kids waiting to get in the car and ended up buying the excess cover because I wasnt given the time to check my own cover (there was also a very large queue waiting to get their cars).

I was also told that I must use as much diesel as I possible could and return as empty as possible!!!

I was given a hand held gadget and asked to sign my name (similar to what you sign when tesco drop off your shopping) I found later on that the signature was used to sign the T&C document, yet I wasn't asked to read any of the points!

The car had a big dent in the back bumper and above into the bodywork which I only noticed when I parked up at my destination (the car park was dark and the car was black) which I stressed about all week until I returned it to find big signs up saying not to worry if there are dents on the car, the insurance covers it anyway!

That said I loved the car, was better than mine at home!

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your rental experience (although glad to hear you enjoyed the car). Please note that full coverage is always offered for customers’ peace of mind and as an alternative to blocking a deposit in their credit card (unblocked 15-20 days later). If they have third party supplier coverage, such as yourself, they can later request a refund.
Regarding fuel, please take into consideration that we offer a pre-purchase fuel plan, where a full tank is paid for at destination and unused fuel is later refunded. Unlike a full to full plan (also available when booking through our webpage), customers don’t have to worry about refuelling close to the office before returning the vehicle. They can use as much fuel as needed.
