Please DO NOT use Firefly. They look cheap from home but BEWARE they add all sorts of charges when you get to the airport! Now I find that they have charged my credit card 4 months later for 'promotional purposes'(I got this explanation from my credit card company; Firefly haven't sent any explanation.) Hired a car in Florence in September. Car was in a terrible state, covered in dents, and very dirty with a damaged tyre. Returned the car 4 hours before my flight with a full tank of diesel. Firefly were too busy to check the car and 3 weeks later charged me for a tank of diesel and an admin charge. We reserved a car to collect from Barcelona airport Jan 2nd arrived to find the office closed. We had to get a taxi to our destination 2 hours away and have received no contact from Firefly re our complaint. They do not respond to emails What can you do to get a response from them???? “KEEP CLEAR OF THIS USELESS RENTAL COMPANY”

This car hire company MUST be avoided at all costs. The cars aren't even legal and they are damaged beyond what is acceptable. The staff don't care and as long as they are badgering you to take out more insurance and more cover at the desk. Very unhelpful - we stood in a long line of people complaining when we were collecting our car. I booked online through Rentalcars .com and was referred to Firefly. The contract was agreed with some extra charges to be paid locally if incurred. The car was returned with a full tank yet they charged me for fuel, they then used their own exchange rate to inflate the cost, they also charged me a fee for using the credit card that they insisted upon. Booked via 121carrental.com, which incidentally are also really RUBBISH ! My booking was for collection on 15 Aug 2014 @ Naples airport, Italy. Upon arrival, the car type that we specified was not available, so had to take a larger car than we ordered and considering that we were going to Sorrento, this was very inconvenient! I rent a car through Holiday autos and unlucky for me it was with Firefly!! on arrival they forced me to pay an abusive aextra amount for petrol and forced me to pay for unwanted insurance or leave an excesive deposit which I could only cover with a credit card (no cash or Debit card). “The ratings stand for themselves”

Totally gouged me. $90.00 for a dinky nissan in Denver because it was "peak season" (actually because no one else had any cars available. To add insult to injury, a toll service was added that activates automatically if you hit a toll. Besides the toll fee, they charge you $4.95 a day for "administrative fees". Firefly Car Rental has charged my credit card multiple times months after the rental period was over. It is good I have spotted the whole thing. I will notify my bank about this issue. Hopefully I will get my money back. My advice to all people who are naive enough to use their service is to block your credit card right after the rental period (holiday) is over. The car rental in Milan Malpensa is out of the airport, there is no restroom on the site. When we got there I discovered that my wallet with my credit card was missing. I was in tears, they refused to use my other credit card because the numbers were not embossed. Poor service, sub-standard car, fuel-cost rip-off, and charged for "special cleaning" afterwards when the car didn't have a crumb in it. Difficult to contact but when I eventually did get a reply, it was a blatant lie claiming the condition of the car on return necessitated this so-called special cleaning. Stay Away from Firefly, they try to rip you off as and when they can, Read the other reviews on the net too. I rented a car in Sevilla and gave back a full tank. They charged my card £72. I had taken a picture of the dashboard and the meter (I always do that when I return a rented car). They replied to my e mail saying if I show the picture they will refund. I have used firefly car rental from Murcia airport on several occasions and haven't had any problems. I have always been very happy with the car, the customer service and particularly the rental price and the fact that you can return the car full of fuel. I always decline the additional insurances, which means leaving a substantial deposit but again, I have never had any problems with the deposit being returned. I reserved a car in Milan airport to go skiing with my daughter. My flight was delayed, I sent an email telling them about it. Eventually, I arrived 6 hours later and was told that my car was gone, the reservation is not valid and my prepaid money is lost. this is bay far the worse experience I had when renting cars (and I do that for 35 years). I had to go back to the airport and rent a new car with a different agency and pay a full price. I would never make a reservation there again!… Read Full Review

“Overcharged my credit card when back in the UK”

Rented a car online in the UK for pick up in Alicante Spain. Booking was agreed in Euros and staff were reminded to charge my credit card in Euros in ALC. On retuning to the UK they'd charged the card in british pounds at their own inflated exchange rate, adding over £40 more to the booking.Their customer services and complaints team are virtually impossible to contact and responses are very limited, totally avoiding the issue I'm raising.
