I had a 12 day rental for a very good price and I was really pleased with the car - a Ford Fiesta in very good condition with around 45,000 km on the clock. I did not have any bad experience whatsoever and the staff were quite pleasant. The only problem was finding the office location with a Garmin satnav - but Google found it without a problem. After waiting for 2 hours in a queue to get to speak with a representative at the desk in Barcelona Spain I was told that I was to pay an extra sum of money for "Compulsory" insurance before they would release my car. I had already paid through the company that I booked with and there was no mention of extra charges. They rob you blind no matter what nationality including the Spanish. Had a confirmation on a car. when I arrived at correct time the place was closed and had been for 3 hrs. “Closed early, no warning”

We arrived in Denver and had trouble finding the shuttle because it was not clearly marked. They share a shuttle with Thrify and Dollar, so we got on the shuttle finally and arrived at Dollar to find that Firefly had decided to close early without notice and we didn't have much other choice but to book a new reservation at Dollar. “Charged for Damage I Didn't Cause”

We rented a car from Firefly to use during our holiday in Amalfi, Italy. The first car we were supplied with (Fiat 500) was faulty and we were made aware of smoke coming out from the rear wheel arch by an attendant in one of the booths on the toll road who indicated that car was unsafe to drive and instructed us to get off the road. “Never, ever, rent a car from Hertz, or Firefly”

Car hire booked through Ryanair site and paid for with my Debit/ Visa card. Hertz,I thought. Arrive at Carcasonne airport, and I'm told I'm booked with Firefly. They refused to accept the same debit card for insurance guarantee, needing a credit card. No car. Never use this company. Had no choice but to buy extra insurance I had already pre-paid for through booking agent. It took over an hour to get the car and over an hour to return it. Staff were rude and slow. I hope they go out of business very soon. DO NOT USE THIS USELESS company. Their actions are fraudulent. We started our vacation in Denver. First had problems finding the shuttle for Firefly. They then wanted to place a "soft check" on my boyfriends credit card, we ended up using mine. When we returned the car no one was there to accept it. When we got to Phoenix there was no one at the counter and it was 9am on a Thursday. Counter was dark and not open. Booked through Expedia - paid all insurances up front to Expedia, still had freeze of €1510.00 put on our credit card for excess (in case of damage). Fortunately for us we didn't damage the car, if we had, this would be a different much more expensive story! Paperwork for existing damage to the car was not complete - if you do rent with this company make sure you check and re-check the car before leaving. “WARNIG: Forced to buy their expensive insurance”

In Naples, Italy, I was forced to buy an additonal insurance of amount ca 190 € (the rental was ca 170€, prepaid), because they couldn't make a deposit on my credit card of ... 1 500 € (!). “A bargain car hire in Venice. No problems at all!”

A bargain car hire. At only £46 for 1 week's rental. Booking was easy and block on credit card removed within 3 days of returning car. The only point that I have to make is that the pickup in Venice is by the side of a white tower and not on the first floor as specified on the receipt. Denver Firefly is a disaster. First in line, it took over 30 minutes to get our car even with a reservation. The process was totally inefficient, the agent actually walked out into the yard to find my car, twice! They snuck in a fee of over $300 above my reservation. “Fire Fly never again for me!”

I used to book with DO YOU SPAIN and never discover this problems. -The do not deduct the first payment i booked trough Economic Car Rental and payed a first amount. They do charge you a lot of unclear taxes etc. So you do pay a high price al final. I must admitt that the quality of the car was exellent. I rented a car with Firefly Alicante Airport via atlaschoice. The price was good online, but the final price more than doubled when Firefly applied extra charges when picking up the car. I think conning your customers like this is a bad business model, even if it does work to drive custom to your company. Absolutely the worst experience ever. No mention it was located miles from the airport, no instructions as to how to find the shuttle, no computer system running to check out the car, no accountability for fuel, no map to find the place upon returning. i hired a car on 16/5/2015 from malaga airport.the cost for the car was just under 30 euros for the week. I understood the 49 euro charge for petrol and I opted for the supercover at about 50 euros for the week so I was a little surprised that what should have been at most 130 euros was 187 euros. service charge and vat which are not included in any of the quoted prices amounted to 50 euros. just be careful to add these to your totals… Read Full Review
