Our holiday was close to disaster at Europcar desk of Venice airport. Travelling with family we need a car with a big boot, preferably a station wagon. To be sure we'll have one, I had booked it beforehand. At the location we were told no such car is available, nor is any car larger than that. Instead of Renault Megane they gave us Fiat Bravo that was too small for our luggage.

We had to cancel the deal with full refund but the deposit was still held from our credit card, which complicated our finances a bit during the holiday. Luckily, we found a larger car from another agency (many of them had simply no cars left at all) and avoided being trapped at the airport... Clearly, we can't recommend Europcar to anyone and will never use their services again.
