I was provided with a car from Enterprise for around 6 weeks via the BMW garage who were fixing my car under warranty. I was given a car with a full tank and when I returned it 6 weeks later I filled it back up again so no issue here as I paid for exactly the amount of fuel I used.

They did offer me the excess waiver for £9.99/day, now seriously I work in the insurance industry and that is not a good deal. You can buy this independently for a fraction of the price so just google 'excess waiver on hire car'. That's a huge money spinner for Enterprise.

Unfortunately my car had to go back to BMW the following week and I was given another car via Enterprise. For some reason they decided to give me 1/4 tank of fuel, unfortunately when my husband filled the car up to return he filled it full. I told them that we were returning it full therefore, could they refund the difference but they were not interested and said it wasn't technically possible to give a refund!!! What do they do if you return a car which is under the required level?? Charge you of course but when it's the other way around you have no chance. This error cost me c. £65.



The only way to pay for exactly what you use is to have a full tank when you receive it and then fill it when you return! I would expect that to be industry standard practice. How the hell are you expected to get it exactly back on quarter or half a tank??? Enterprise must make a huge amount of money through customer putting too much fuel back in the hire car.

I'll be passing on my complaint to head office (looking at other reviews I"m not sure what that will achieve) and BMW who pass a lot of business their way especially through me and my defective car!

That's what was said last time and I was promised a call back from the Hove office. After several weeks I heard nothing even though on several occasions you chased them.

So I've already been around this process and it hasn't got me anywhere!!
