After having been in a car crash on a trip from Glasgow to Kidderminster, I called enterprise at 8pm on Tuesday 8th October, i was told I'd collect my car the following morning at 9am. I received a call 1 hour before I was due to collect the car and was told I couldn't get the car till 3pm. A friend of mine pulled some strings and I got the car at 12pm.
When I returned to Glasgow with the car the following day, the car was to be dropped off at the Glasgow Springburn branch at 12pm, 48 hours after collection. I telephoned the branch to tell them I would be 20 minutes late as it was the earliest I could get away from work, they informed me that this WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM. When I arrived at the branch I had a friendly chat with one of the staff who thanked me for my custom and said there were no issues with the car. Two days later I checked my bank statement and noticed that £43 had been taken from my £200 deposit, I was informed over the phone that this charge was due to the fact that I was LATE when I returned the car! I demanded to know why this wasn't mentioned to me when I returned the car? No justifiable explanation was given, I don't doubt for a second that in the past this may have gone un-noticed by other customers. The money was returned to me but the inconvenience alone left a bad taste.
I've also just received a letter from enterprise saying that while I was using their hire car, I was caught doing 35 MPH in a 30 MPH zone, incredibly harsh but that's the law so I need to accept the penalty of points and a fine, HOWEVER, Enterprise are charging me £35 for the administration fee of passing on the speeding fine to me.
In my honest opinion this company are a disgrace in regards to their promises, communication and customer service.
