“A Nightmare Car Hire Story From ENTERPRISE - LONDON”

★★☆☆☆

written by Halmer on 21/01/2013

I hired a car from Enterprise car rental at London Uxbridge for a period abouth 3 weeks. I booked my car I have choosen by the phone and the car I have choosen was an manual Opel Insignia. The day I went to collect my car I was reported that The car I booked was not available and I was offered a higher stage car. Even though I was offered reduction on the new car I was offered but still had to pay more than I should. As restult as I was not happy to pay more than what I should for my car hire I requested to have the car I booked and I was told first car was available after a week. So I went back to Enterprise to collect the car I originally requested and booked second time and this time I was given a car with service light on which needed servising plus condition of the car was horrible. As I had no choise of getting this car this time at noght I realized head lights of the car was horribably wrongly adjusted left one showing space and reight headlight showing only 3 yards in front. I was very upset second time reporting this to Uxbridge branch and They promissed me to arrange another car but earliest in 2 days. So going back to Uxbridge Branch third time I was spending more time dealing and changing the cars more than I should spend for my business. So not surprisingly I was offered another upgrade car with highter cost than what I suppouse to pay my original booking ( The opel Insignia was still not available) I had my third car from Enterprise.
In the mean time I was not suprise to see another person previously hired the the car I had have paid much less insurance cost than I was offered. It was so upsetting than I desided to investigate this. I was originally offered 1000.00( One thousand pounds excess) for my insurance which looked very high compare to most of the other rental companies. Despite this I realized Enterprise offered diffrent excess figures to each customers and normally they should offer 600 Pounds instead. So as I was aware of Enterprise damage policy of their so called E-Tools damage or we can call scrach measuring tool driwing this car with 1000 Pounds excess was a nightmare itself. ( I am a driver with 30 years of UK driving license with no penalty of fine on it). Some how managing my nightmare driving experinse with Enterprise I manage to deliver my car without any problem to Enterprise on the day I suppuse to return it. So I realised my nightmare was just starting. The reason..?.. was an small nail on the base of the tyre. So the Manager of the Uxbridge branch of Enterprise was checcking the car and he manage to spot a nail on the tyre. He than immidiataly informed me that nothing to worry too much because the nail is only on the legal side of the tyre ( Which it was from my driving experinse I especially indicated it myself to him) so it should cost me abouth 35 Pounds to repare it. In the mean time I offered him I had spare time and I would be happy to get tyre reparied and return the car but he said he should be doing it for me and nothing to worry about. But him againg immidiataly getting a damage tyre paperwork signed to me I was feeling something was not right there. So as I have guest after 3 days of not hearing from him I was told that The tyre had nail was not in reparibale condition and they had to change the tyre with a new one. I absoulately went crazy and him and me seing the nail ourselves and knowing it was a small repair job changing the whole tyre was complete rip off. So result I have lost my 200 Pounds deposit too and never paid back after all my wonderfull Enterprise car rental Experiense. There is still a plus.. to this venture. After calling Manager Uxbridge of Enterprise compaling my horror story that him created guest what I was resulted with. I was treatend that my excess insuranse was 1000 Pounds and I was luck he made me a favaur of only deducting 200 Pound tyre cost only. I would like to indicate everybody whom decides to hire a car from Enterprise. The damage measureing system they show to the customers so it is called E-Tool is a round circle aboth 3 inches in Diameter. Any damage excess to this circle your suppouse to pay your excess. So you may end up paying 1000 pounds for and 3.5 inch scrach to your car. So on my story I ended up paying 200 Pounds for a nail on the tyre ( Tyre was in fit and inflated position when I delvered the car back) and the diameter of this nail was only less than 0.5 inches on the lagal repairable side of the tyre. So what ever you do, somehow you will be find some ways to end up paying some kind of damage or penalty when you hire a car from Enterprise. In the mean time I am still waiting that somebody should return my complain I made to Exterprise gong back 2 weeks even after so many sorries and appologies but with no results so far.
