I intend to travel to spain this summer and have been looking to hire a car. I came onto review centre which said basically - use elephant, do not use avis. so a booked through elephant for a 5 person 4 door 4 bags car.

The booking went through to - yes avis - who sent me a reservation for a 2 door, 3 bag car.

I phoned the customer service centre who said i had to sort it out at the airport or cancel - what sort of service is that!!

so i cancelled. Is there a good hire car company in spain out there?

I had to put the vehicle condition as poor even though I didnt hire it, otherwise I couldnt review.

This is a different Elephant Car Hire to the one in Cyprus which is independant and very good. There are some awful car hire companies in Spain but we always use Autos Reisen where possible because they good prices with an honest insurance. insurance is the all important thing as many have so many limitations or extra charges it can double the actual hire cost. Avoid "Do You Spain" and read small print very carefully.
