Prices can sometimes be incredibly lower than through regular location agencies, and in some cases, we found the location agency to be not very happy with it, leading us to a smaller car than what we rented. This happened seevral times (two doors instead of 4, lower category etc...). So we are clearly "second level" customer when booking through Economy Car Rental. But how to compare "$200 for a week including insurantes" with Economy Car Rental and the "$57 per day" you would have to pay to the location agency, for the same car? so, knowing that the car rental office will push me to a smaller car, I just avoid the extra fees of renting a top level car.
