Be very careful with this company, I hired from them over the summer in Greece. Had a minor dent in a car park and thought the full insurance would cover it without problems. I paid for the damage and was told just get a police report and sent photos with the receipt from the hire company and its that easy!!!
The reality is getting a police report takes time but no matter, emailed all over to Economy car rentals and now I suddenly need to send the originals by post to Greece, including Police report, Receipt, bank statements etc.
Anyone would think they don't want to pay.

You ask to speak to their complaints dept, they don't have one. Ask to speak to a supervisor, its not company policy to transfer calls. Ask by email to escalate, no answer.

Also you don't know the company you actually hire the car from until you book, this one was a good 20mins from the airport.

Maybe its better to book from a reputable company at the airport.


I hope my experience helps others to make an informed choice whether to hire a car through this company or from a better known brand. These guys are brokers and so you never know where your car is coming from and when you have a problem there is no intention from Economy Car Rentals to solve the issue. Their prices look low but in 
reality you are not getting the insurance you may later want to rely on, and if you add the insurance from the company actually supplying the car then the costs are higher. Their customer service department have an undeserved arrogance and unhelpful attitude that only comes from organizations that feel uncomfortable when their scam is spotted. Its clear 
asking people to send through their private bank statements when you have an invoice from the legitimate car hire company would be a very high risk thing to do, you might as well publish it on the WWW.I hope other customers will feel comfortable in sharing their experiences with this company and you never know they may want to revisit their business model.
