FARO - many times i have used economy car hire for Faro. this is the third time of using Rent Auto.
Whilst the company, the reps and the procedures are excellent, this is the third time i have been 'upgraded'
This seems to mean (to Rent Auto) that you get a bigger car - usually the old nail that they cant get rid of to someone else or the last car on the lot! My last three 'upgrades' consisted of a VW Polo with the nearside virtually missing - so much accident damage it was untrue (and it was very dirty inside), a Peugeot 206 (yes 206 not 207 the current model) with a gearbox a weightlifter would have struggled with, and this time very old (100000km) old model Ford Fiesta which again was dirty inside and had virtually no fuel and again a rubbish gearbox (my partner couldn't get it in reverse!) (rep did apologise in advance for that). Rent Auto are a nice company to deal with but if they offer you an upgrade be careful. Part of the problem seems to be a lack of vehicles, for instance when we picked up our last one (and we were first to the rep off the plane!)it was the only car in the lot so refusal could have created problems. I will not be using Rent Auto again
Economy Car hire are a great company to deal with, this supplier is just letting the side down a bit - they need monitoring.

We at Economy Car Hire certainly expect all of our suppliers to provide vehicles that are in good working order. We do recommend that you check your vehicle before leaving the airport. If you are not completely satisfied with any part of the vehicle, this is the time to say so and, if necessary, ask for an alternative vehicle. We would not expect any of our customers to accept a hire vehicle that they are unhappy with. Had we been contacted at the time, we would have liaised with the supplier on your behalf to organise a replacement hire car for the remainder of your rental.
Rest assured that we do monitor our customer feedback closely and will continue to do so to highlight any areas of concern to the suppliers.
We do hope that despite your disappointment on this occasion, we are able to be of assistance to you again in the future.
